FIVE WAYS TO STYLE THE MENS ROLL NECK SWEATER
The roll neck jumper is a complete classic and should be a staple item in any man's wardrobe. It can be easily transformed from a day time casual look to a night out or formal event just by changing a few key items.
In this post I will be showing you five different ways that you can style our 100% merino wool roll neck sweater. This stunning timeless piece is made from 100% Italian extra fine merino wool which means it is lovely, warm and breathable. This style comes in three different colours so you will be sure to find something that suits you.
How to wear a roll neck sweater?
1. Layer it up
The AW16 catwalks were swamped with men's roll neck sweaters layered under chunky knits. Match our charcoal roll neck sweater with a pair of dark faded jeans and hard wearing boots. Stick to an alternating monochrome pallet when mixing and matching with this look so that the contrast of colours highlights the detailing in the knitwear.
2. Alternative work wear
Ever thought of replacing your boring and probably old fashioned tie for a more updated look? Turtle neck jumpers are probably one of the most comfortable garments you can own so why not try and substitute your tie for one of our roll neck merino wool sweaters? Add a smart tailored suit over the top and you've got yourself a comfortable but smart, work outfit. Admittedly, some places of work may view this as controversial and prefer a more traditional shirt, tie and jacket, but this look is still formal and can be easily dressed down once you finish work by removing the suit jacket. If you wanted to take it one step further then you could easily add a waistcoat over your polo neck jumper and under your suit jacket, I recommend contrasting colours for this look.
3. Mix it up
The third look is a smart but also relaxed, meaning it will look like you have made somewhat of an effort even though you probably have not. Just take our merino wool fine gauge roll neck in navy with a big chunky coat, a pair of black faded wash jeans and heavy duty boots such as doc martens or timberland's. This outfit would be perfect for a cold winter-y walk or a winters Sunday lunch with the family. We know winter wardrobes can very quickly become dreary and 'samey' so styling this way will add some life back into your winter season outfits.
4. Straightforward and simple
This is a look adapted to create an easy and carefree vibe without any hassle. Take the roll neck jumper in charcoal with a pair of black ripped jeans or straight legged trousers, match with your favourite trainers and a bomber jacket for a cool but smart look. If you wanted to dress this look up, then add a pair of sophisticated boat shoes. For extra warmth you could simply wear our 100% cotton black tee underneath on the colder days.
5. Geek is Chic
The final look is quite alternative and unique but it is probably my favourite out of all the five outfits. Style the roll neck with some tweed trousers or straight legged check trousers and brogues. You can also add more warmth and edge to this look by adding our Shawl Collar Cardigan Coat.
