Our Knitwear Factories
Made in England | Made in Europe | Made in India
Paul James Knitwear and its sister company Jack Masters own and operate two factories, one based in the heart of the British textile industry in Leicester, England, and one in the family’s home town of Navsari in India.
The group's first factory was established in 1987, and due to the efforts and loyalty of the company’s staff and clients, the founders were able to build a new factory in India which has specialised in lightweight 100% cotton and viscose knitwear, whilst the UK factory has focused on developing its premium and luxury 100% wool range.
In 2005 Jack Masters acquired Paul James Knitwear after seeing the gap in the market for British luxury attire. Paul James' archive and knitting machinery was relocated from Barwell to Ayelstone in Leicestershire, England.
The businesses' desire to foster and build upon existing relationships has meant that the company also sources its knitwear from Europe. This opportunity arose when one of the company’s technicians relocated back home with his partner after the birth of their first child.
The group employ thirty people in the UK and seventy in India. Both factories have in-house design and sampling teams, and utilise both state-of-the-art and traditional manufacturing techniques.
