100% Chunky Wool Turtle Neck Sweater - Made in England

Inspired by the substantial hand-knitted jumpers worn by British seamen over a century ago, our Merino Submariner is a timeless cold-weather layer, made in England from 100% premium merino wool.

Knitted with a relaxed, boxy silhouette, the generous shape creates space around the body for comfort, breathability and easy layering. The substantial roll neck provides additional protection from the elements, whilst the natural properties of merino wool help regulate body temperature, keeping you warm without feeling overly heavy or restrictive.

Designed for extended wear across the cooler months, from the first autumn days of September through winter and into April or May. Wear it over a t-shirt for fine layer for walking, gardening and days outdoors, layer it beneath a jacket when temperatures fall, or simply pull it on when relaxing by the fire.

Made in Leicestershire, England using exceptionally soft merino wool sourced from the Andes Mountains of Peru. A robust, enduring piece designed around natural materials, traditional maritime clothing and the simple pleasure of spending time outdoors.

  • Ecru - Jonathan is 6ft (183cm), chest size 39" (96cm) and wears a medium for a regular fit
  • Black, Charcoal & Green - George is 6ft 2" (188cm), chest size 38" (96cm) and wears a medium for a regular fit.
  • Navy - Chan is 6ft (182cm), chest size 40" (101cm) and wears medium for a fitted look.

  • Pilling may occur on the first few wears. Remove gently using a depilling comb; do not pull
  • Hand-wash (30°C max) in tepid water with a specialist wool detergent or baby shampoo
  • Gently press out the excess water, take care not to stretch or wring the fabric
  • Lay the item flat to dry in its natural shape
  • Do not tumble dry. Never dry on direct heat or radiators
  • To refresh your knitwear gently steam between wears
  • Alternatively, dry clean

Exceptionally fine and naturally intelligent, merino wool is prized for its ability to regulate temperature while remaining soft against the skin. Designed by nature to adapt, it provides warmth in cooler conditions and breathability when temperatures rise.

We source our chunky merino from Peru and our extrafine and superfine merino is supplied by industry favourites Zegna Baruffa (Est. 1850), Papi Fabio (Est. 1890) and Lanerossi (Est. 1817).

This piece is made in our Leicestershire factory by experienced knitters working at the centre of England’s long-established knitwear industry. The site has been integral to the development of our wool and cashmere collections, where attention to finish and consistency is essential.
