    High-Performance Perforated Base Layer Leggings

Designed to eliminate all cold, our Zelios men's heavyweight (278g) base layer pants are designed to deliver performance in the harshest of winter conditions.

Named after the Greek god of power, these breathable moisture-wicking and odour-resistant leggings are made from pure merino sourced from Lanerossi (Estd. 1817).

Tested on long muti-day treks in the Himalayas, and designed for extremely long durations of wear, our leggings have a perforated rear band to aid ventilation and will deliver outstanding thermo-regulation to keep you warm, and unlike synthetic alternatives, your skin dry. Our base layer bottoms are a firm addition for all outdoor enthusiasts.

    Merino Wool Yarn

Exceptionally fine and naturally intelligent, merino wool is prized for its ability to regulate temperature while remaining soft against the skin. Designed by nature to adapt, it provides warmth in cooler conditions and breathability when temperatures rise.

We source our chunky merino from Peru and our extrafine and superfine merino is supplied by industry favourites Zegna Baruffa (Est. 1850), Papi Fabio (Est. 1890) and Lanerossi (Est. 1817).

    Wonderful base layer leggings

"The quality, fabric and fit are excellent. The wool is smooth, warm and comfortable (particularly when wearing against the skin). The fit is great: allowing freedom of movement, and good natural elasticity. It retains its shape perfectly. Love the colour, and the aeration design detail down the back."

    Excellent Service, Quality Clothing

"My first impressions of the Paul James Knitwear website was that it looked very sleek and professional looking. This was backed up by the quality of the products that I bought (although they haven’t quite been put to the test fully yet), and the professionalism of the customer service. When phoning them, my product exchange query was dealt with very efficiently and in a polite and friendly manner. All in all, I would highly recommend Paul James Knitwear and encourage anyone who is looking to kit themselves out with a new wardrobe to pay them a visit on their website."

    — Sean F. (5/5)

    Highly recommended

"I am very pleased with my purchased. They are really well, the fit is good and true to my size. Although not tested to cold extremes yet I was keen to give them a test and wore them under my work clothes on a chilly blustery September day. They definitely kept me warm."

    Simply The Best

"These “long Johns” are beautifully made and very comfortable to wear. However, their real strength is their warmth. Perfect for the recent snowy weather we have had and without some of the discomfort I have experienced with man made fibre alternatives. Highly recommended. David Knight"

    — DAVID K. (5/5)

Comfortable but with a glaring issue

"I have had these merino bottoms for less than 2 months. They are warm and comfortable. However, it has torn in two different places already. It is too delicate to be of any practical benefit unfortunately. I don't even use them in a rough manner (ordinary usage). My other thermals haven't ripped once and they've been worn for far longer."
